CREW

Katherine Allen (Director /Writer) is a NYC-based filmmaker, artist, and conjuror of stories that hide in our subconscious. She is currently working on a surrealistic horror fairy tale trilogy The Widow’s Hand under the pseudonym Lucretia Grimm, in addition to L’alphabête Noire. Oh, and she’s left-handed, which means she is sinister.

Daniel Farmer (Director of Photography - “A-D”) As a child in rural Australia there wasn’t a lot to latch on to, but the small selection of VHS tapes at the local grocery store offered a window to a world of inspired imagination. Since relocating to Brooklyn, Daniel’s vast variety of projects have included documentaries onsite with live fire involving the US Army to Hollywood sets with HBO and Warner Brothers. He also loves engineering the annual Kitten Bowl. Crafting images is a passion that lead to many independent creative outlets including the award winning short, Dream of Vermilion, shot with a local crew in Puerto Rico examining the turbulent relationship with the US.

Patricia Yi (Producer - “A-D”) grew up in Queens, New York and attended Pennsylvania State University where she graduated with a degree in Media Studies. Since graduating Patricia has wasted no time in entering the film industry with an unrivaled passion and motivation. Beginning as a Script Supervisor on smaller projects to multimillion dollar films, Patricia has grown a talent and an inherent understanding as a producer. She has produced reality shows, short films, music videos, commercials, and large scale film productions and continues to push herself in a rapidly moving industry. Her latest efforts include Mrs. Fletcher, The Blacklist, and John Wick 3, to name a few.

Derya Celikkol (Production Designer - “A-D”) is a production designer and set decorator for film and commercials. Her best design work can be found in period narrative films like “40 Nickels” in which she created a 1930s Louisiana home in a Bedstuy Airbnb, “Family Tree,” a sci-fi film taking place in 1910s and the award-winning “Chains of Freedom’s” timeless dystopian classroom. She moved to New York from Istanbul, Turkey in 2011 to study at NYU. She also has a cinematography degree from New York Film Academy.

Samantha Rattner (Costume Designer - “A-D”) is a Costume Designer for film, television, and theater. Always seeking a variety of projects to express her vision, she has designed projects such as Quantico (ABC), Marvel’s Runaways (HULU), The Giant Void in My Soul (Ammunition Theater Company), and Soundtrack (Netflix). With a true passion for period pieces, the vision for L’Alphabête Noire allows for another exciting collaboration to add to her varied career. BFA in Costume Design, SUNY Purchase 2007.

Shannon Rae Mulligan (Hair & Make-Up Artist - “A-D”) After switching majors each year in college over 3 years at two different schools, Shannon decided to make a change. She has a background of Business, Chemistry, and Fine Arts - which makes up her career path today. She enrolled in Make-Up Designory in NYC, marking the start of her evolving passions. Growing up watching horror and sci-if films, it was the making of creatures and gore effects that always intrigued her. Now, Shannon is an IATSE Local 798 Makeup Artist working on top rated TV shows/Films and creating special makeup effects in her private FX Studio - making her dreams her reality.

Dannette Mehalik (Editor - “B”) - An only child from rural Ohio, Dannette’s formative years were spent directing, editing, and starring in movies she shot with her father’s camcorder. Early visionary works include “64 Colors Are Not Enough”, "My Banana Seat" and “Waiting For the Ice Cream Truck”, (for which, she also composed the original score.) After an unfortunate incident involving said camcorder, the family cat, and the bathtub, Dannette decided to dedicate her imagination solely to the post side of production, and she’s never looked back. Dannette has been an editor in NYC for over 15 years with a dedicated following of clients. She especially loves any opportunity to put her After Effects and sound design skills to use. Dannette is also an obsessive rock climber and a lover of a good grilled-cheese. She still contends that 64 colors are not enough
